Without any doubt, editing was the hardest part of creating the film opening.
For the editing process I used DaVinci Resolve, a program recommended by a wonderful person who helped me along the way, every time I had a question. Initially, I thought editing would be quick and simple. I could imagine myself just putting the scenes together.. and the story would just come to live. But the moment I opened DaVinci, I realized I was mistaken. Every single thing about this app was so complex, and for a moment, I thought I wouldn't be able to finish this process.
So.. I decided to spend the first days exploring the app. I wanted to learn how it works and to try to edit short clips I had filmed. And slowly, it all began to make sense. I finally learned how to use this wonderful app, and piece by piece, I shaped my film opening the way I wanted too, even though there were some small mistakes. It was my creation.
Editing is 100% the hardest part of creating a film opening. It takes patience. A lot of patience. I had to notice mistakes.. then fix them.. I had to match the sound perfectly to the lines.. to edit every short scene. It's a process that takes time, but it's magical.
It's not an easy process, but after learning how to use the app, I started loving it deeply. Watching your creation come together, one frame at a time, is truly worth it.
