Once I have finished filming, the first thing I had to do was to download every single shot I'd captured the day of filming. This was the easiest part since during filming I had a list with all the scenes I planned to include in my film opening.

Having the list with the chosen shots made the process of editing way easier.

After filming each scene multiple times, I looked at each shot and wrote down the number of the shot I was going to use for my final film opening. By doing this, when I had to do the montage of the scenes, it was easy for me to just pick the scene I decided looks best.

After downloading everything, I began putting the shots together in the order they were meant to be seen. This stage, "Raw Montage", was not about editing yet, it was just about building the vision of my film opening. I just wanted to make sure that the scenes looked good and to see what kind of atmosphere started to form once I put everything together.

When I watched the raw montage, I noticed a few details that didn't look how I wanted them to look and I wasn't completely happy with them... a few mistakes when filming, but I couldn't refilm anything. Seeing the scenes put together helped me see what needed to change. In the Raw Montage, I couldn't find a way to fix the mistakes I have seen, but when the real editing phase came, I found ways to fix those issues and bring the vision I had to life.

Raw Montage is like the first variant of my film opening. It's not perfect, but I can see what my story is slowly becoming..
